Spent 90eur on pests and damaged plants. Couldn't get my money back
This was one of the worst online plant purchases I've ever made.
I ordered three plants. My first impression when opening the box was that the M plants were kinda small for M plants but ok. Then I looked closer and the nightmare started. One plant arrived with a severe pest infestation, and because all three plants were shipped together, the others were also affected. Instead of receiving healthy plants, I ended up with a quarantine problem that put the rest of my collection at risk. The seller said that it was "normal" to receive plants with a serious infestation.......LMAO.
A second plant arrived heavily damaged because of shockingly poor packaging. There was no protective padding, no indication of which way was up for the box, and the plant arrived upside down and badly mangled.
I contacted the seller immediately with evidence. It then took nearly a week to receive a response while the plants continued to deteriorate. During that time I was forced to spend my own time and money isolating and treating plants that should never have been shipped in that condition.
The initial "solution" offered was a coupon worth only 15% of the value of the infested plant, not even the entire order. In other words, I was offered like 3eur and was expected to spend more money with the same seller that had just sent me infested plants. After further discussion, the offer became a 15% refund of the affected plant, instead of a coupon, which is still completely inadequate given the condition of the entire order. No mention of the other plants being affected too, or of my McDowell being damaged, yellowing and dying. The seller just told me "newer growth is a lighter green" like one can't tell the difference between a new leaf and a dying/yellowing leaf.
I then tried PayPal, but I wasn't given the chance to show any newer pictures with the deteriorating plants, and the only solution I was given was under conditions that cannot be met, making it effectively useless. I would have to pay return shipping MYSELF, meaning that no matter what, even if I received a full refund, I'd be out of pocket. And that's if I received a refund at all, cause I'd have to return the plants "in the same condition" than they were received. These are living plants that have continued to decline while this dispute dragged on, which the seller knows because I communicated this, making that requirement impossible to satisfy... So I suspect the whole point of the delays was to have this happen so that even if I sent the plants back, I'd be denied a refund due to the condition the plants are in.
Basically, I spent almost 100eur on 3 dying plants and to get just the CHANCE to maybe get my money back I'd have to spend even more.
I cannot recommend this seller to anyone who expects healthy plants, professional packaging, or reasonable customer service when something goes wrong... which looking at the reviews seems to happen often. Basically, if you luck out and get a healthy plant, it's ok... but if you need CS assistance for any reason, you're screwed.
