Product arrived with demolished Shrinkwrap Factory Seal. As we wanted to make that a present for a collector, it's of no use for us. We offered to keep this copy for ourselves and hoped for a benevolent accommodation.
The reply just was that a factory seal is just there to be removed before listening, so no defect and no claim. Even though we had hoped for a different point of view (as we just open the seal on one side to keep the protection for the cover), we can live with it (using a left over protection shell). The collector's copy we obviously purchased somewhere else...

We would like to clarify that while we understand the importance of aesthetics for collectors, we do not consider damaged sealing foil a defect if the record and the cover itself are intact. This is stated in our terms and conditions:
"In some cases, it may happen that a new item is received from our supplier unsealed or the sealing foil is damaged. In these cases, we do not accept missing or damaged sealing foil as a reason for complaint if the item otherwise is free of defects."
As confirmed by the photos provided, the vinyl itself is in perfect condition. The shrinkwrap's primary purpose is to protect the product during transport from the factory and our warehouse to you. Since the seal has served its purpose and the record is flawless, we cannot offer a compensation or a return in this specific case.
We regret that we couldn't provide the "benevolent accommodation" you hoped for this time, but we hope you understand our position regarding the function of the factory seal.
